How to prevent corrosion of stainless steel nuts and prepare a maintenance layer in advance
As an important component, stainless steel nuts are made of metal materials. Therefore, if stored improperly, there is a high possibility of corrosion damage. Currently, there are four main methods for preventing corrosion of metal materials, including the characteristics of the metal material itself, the specific environment in which it is used, the interface between the material and the environment, and modifying the metal structure design. If alloy materials that can completely resist corrosion are used to make nuts, unless there are special requirements, it is not very cost-effective. The second method is to completely isolate the nut surface from environmental factors that may cause corrosion, but it is not feasible in practical practice, so it is very difficult.

External anti-corrosion treatment is the main method
The design of modifying metal structures can improve environmental impact in certain situations, but the structural design of most stainless steel nuts cannot be completely modified, let alone self maintained. Therefore, this method is difficult to solve basic problems and can only perform anti-corrosion treatment on the contact surface. Therefore, surface anti-corrosion treatment is currently widely used.
Add maintenance layer
The anti-corrosion treatment of the surface of stainless steel nuts mainly refers to the use of various methods to add maintenance layers on the metal surface. The main function is to completely isolate the metal from corrosive environments, thereby inhibiting the corrosion process, or to avoid direct contact between corrosive substances and the metal surface as much as possible, in order to avoid or reduce corrosion.
However, the maintenance layer needs to meet some requirements, such as corrosion resistance and wear resistance, high hardness, tight and complete structure, relatively small pore gaps, strong separation from the base metal, good bonding properties, average dispersion distribution, and high thickness.
